Boiling corn on the cob is a classic and simple way to enjoy this delicious summer vegetable.

Follow these easy steps to make perfect boiled corn every time:

I chose some fresh corn and I started by peeling the husks. I discarded the outer husks, but I kept some of the green fresh ones from inside and I will use them when boiling the corn. I also removed the silk at the top.

Once cleaned, I trimmed the ends. I will keep my corn whole, but If your corn is too big for your pots, you can cut it in half.

I used a pot large enough to fit all my corn and I added a layer of husks. Then, I added the corn and covered everything with husks. I added enough water to cover the corn, then I added some salt.

I placed the pot over medium heat and, when the water started to boil, I covered my pot. Leave the corn to boil for 15-20 minutes if it’s fresh, or for 30-40 minutes if it’s harder. When done, the kernels should be tender but still slightly crisp.

Carefully remove the corn from the pot and place it on a serving platter. Serve hot with butter, salt, and pepper, or your favorite seasoning.

This cooking method is easy to master and always yields delicious results. So next time you’re craving a taste of summer, grab some fresh corn on the cob and try boiling it for a tasty and satisfying dish.
