Our bodies change, our preferences change, and that’s okay.
Last night, I received several notifications from Vinted. Someone had gone through my older listings, created a bundle of items, and made an offer that I happily accepted. About an hour later, I made another sale when one of my older listings finally found a new owner.
This morning, I carefully packed both orders and shipped them. So, what was inside?
First sale

For many years, I wore the same clothing size, which allowed me to build a lovely collection of bras, sports bras, and two-piece swimsuits. But my body changed when I had my son four years ago.
After giving birth, I quickly returned to my previous weight, and all of my clothes still fit. However, pregnancy and breastfeeding changed my bra size. At first, I wasn’t sure whether things would eventually return to how they were, but after some time, I realized I had permanently gone up one bra size. That’s when I decided it was time to list my old collection on Vinted.
Yesterday, someone purchased a bundle of several of those bras. We quickly agreed on a fair offer, and I’m genuinely happy that they’ll continue their journey with someone who can enjoy them.
Second sale

While decluttering, I also went through my bag collection and found one that no longer matched my style, preferences, or everyday needs. It’s a beautiful leather bag with a lovely pattern. Although it’s a little worn on the inside, it still has plenty of life left. It sat on Vinted for 16 months before finally finding a buyer, and this time, it’s heading to another country.
I chose Vinted because it’s the platform that works best for me. But you can use any second-hand marketplace or donation platform that fits your lifestyle and is available where you live.
The important thing isn’t where you let things go, it’s making room for the life you have today instead of holding on to items that no longer serve you. Someone else may be looking for exactly what has been sitting unused in your home.
The more I declutter, the more I realize that making room isn’t just about creating space in my home. It’s also about making room for the person I am today instead of holding on to the person I used to be. Our lives change, our bodies change, our preferences change, and that’s perfectly okay.
